<h1> welcome to the jungle </h1> <p>We're here with new solo artist, Emmin of Sealight. How does it feel to be debuting?
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyeong! It's great, I'm glad to finally be given a chance to sh-show the world what I'm capable of!"
<p>[Yeah as long as they don't compare me to the wrong people...why the fuck was my debut so near his comeback anyway??? Not to mention their debut...]
<p>Are you nervous? This is a big achievement at eighteen years old.
"No, I had plenty of time to prepare for this, so nerves aren't really playing into it. I'm more ex-excited than anything!"
<p>[Of course I'm fucking nervous, this is huge, what if I don't cut it, what if I crash and burn? What would I do?]
<p>As we understand it, your brother, who's also a solo artist at Sealight, debuted recently as well. Do you feel like you're competing against each other?
"Ah, heh, n-no. We've never competed, it was us against everyone else in our family. Or that's how it f-felt, not literally. We're close, so it's n-not a big deal to us."
<p>[He's my twin, get it right...we're never going to be competing, you assholes don't get it.]
<p>So you aren't upset that Sealight seems intent on marketing the two of you together to play off of your being like twins?
"N-No, nothing to be upset about. We get to work together, s-so it's not like it's a big deal to us."
<p>[If we could have gotten a group to take us, it would have been so much better. But nooooo, let's do this stunt. Freaking Sealight.]
<p>You seem to be starting out with a very distinct image. Are you trying to distinguish yourself?
"Not r-really? This is what worked with my concept, my music isn't exactly cute, so I ca-can't really pull off aegyo
that well. There are o-other artists way better at it than me, so I'm l-leaving it to them."
<p>[No one would buy into me being cute anyway, I'm just glad they let me wear leather and not those stupid revealing outfits like a lot of people have to wear...ugh.]
<p>It seems people are expecting you to play up that bad boy vibe you gave off in your first MV. Do you think that's going to be your 'thing' from here out?
"I-If it works with the music I put out, probably. No point in fixing wh-what isn't broken."
<p>[...What are these questions even getting at? It's too close for comfort. Ask something else.]
<p>And now for the girls out there who are very interested in this exciting start to your career, what are you looking for in a girl?
"Ah, uh, well. S-She needs to be able to think for herself, and I like a girl who knows what she wants...though being nice on top of that doesn't hurt either. A good sense of h-humor is probably a must, too. B-But other than that, I have to like her personality. Looks really aren't a factor."
<p>[WHY does everything have to be about who you're dating??? I'm not interested in anyone and I don't need anyone, leave me alone about this crap. Stupid industry.]
<p>That's about it for now. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to speak with us, we're looking forward to great things out of you!
"Th-Thanks for the opportunity, I h-hope I don't disappoint anyone."
<p>[Finally, I didn't think this would ever end...]
<h1>highway to hell</h1> <p>Vlive recorded: July 31st, 2017
<p>[As Emmin's VLive comes on, he's smirking and winking at the camera - the usual behavior, though he squints a bit afterwards.]
"I guess this is enough of you. Ah...okay, I know I arranged this weeks ago and kept putting it off, but I got busy and- w-well, no point in excuses. Not why everyone's here. Okay. S-So. And y-yes, before any of you asked, I got the okay to d-do this from management.
Since I don't always g-get to pick the questions I w-want to answer in interviews, I th-thought this would be a good idea to c-clear up some of the things I hear going around about m-myself. So if anyone has anything they want to a-ask, now is the-"
<p>[Emmin pauses and squints again, then huffs out what sounds like an annoyed sound.]
"N-No, nothing happened to me to m-make me have a st-stammer. I've a-always talked like this. It's j-just something I've learned to live with. Obviously it doesn't a-affect my singing. And b-before anyone gets the bright idea that it makes me stupid - I'm n-not.
I g-graduated from high school at sixteen and c-could've gone to just about any university I w-wanted to, but that w-wasn't what I wanted to do. And I just saw that new q-question, yes I'm from Scotland, my family moved there from Seoul w-when I was six. I'm actually s-still a citizen there, even though I'm p-probably never going back.
I d-don't really want to talk about the r-rest of our family that l-lives there, because they really aren't our family. My only r-relatives I want anything to do with are my older b-brother Ch-Chen and obviously, my twin Daekiiii. Yes, that's h-how I pronounce their names. But I guess to c-clear the air...
This is all I'm going to s-say on this subject and I'm n-not going to repeat myself, so pay attention. There were t-ten of us, I'm the f-fifth age-wise, Daekiiii is the fourth, Ch-Chen is the oldest. No, we're n-not really twins. We were born nine days a-apart. Yes, it was a b-big family, and really easy to get t-talked over all the time, or ignored. If you were l-lucky. I usually wasn't, the third oldest b-brother liked to use me as a punching bag and I had to t-take it.
We l-left when we were sixteen, the age of m-majority in Scotland, and came here to Seoul. Since we're not citizens, we're not e-expected to conscript, s-so we won't be disappearing for military service. And we've b-been here since, so that's really all there is to say on t-that. Any other q-questions?"
<p>[There is a moment of silence where Emmin reads the chat, eyes darting from side to side quickly.]
"Our t-trainee process was probably the s-same as other artists', more or less. We had to t-take special speech lessons to h-help minimize our a-accents, but we were already f-fluent in Korean and a few other languages, so we h-had a leg up. I was already g-good at dancing, been doing it since I was little and m-mimicking the dance moves I saw in early Kpop videos. Singing was...something e-else. My voice wasn't bad but I n-needed training.
At least I had a flair for the s-stage, and I got everything pretty q-quickly."
<p>[He pauses, eyes darting down again back to the chat.]
"Y-yes, I do songwriting for Sealight, and I'm not going to sit here and l-list songs I've worked on, there are credits on my w-wikis elsewhere, but I have worked on a good n-number of recent songs from solo artists and g-groups here. One of my h-hobbies as a kid was studying music, even when I couldn't get l-lessons, I learned to play the piano, guitar and v-violin by ear. So, when I s-suggested I could double as a songwriter, my c-contract was amended to allow me more creative control over my o-own performances as long as I followed the c-concepts that Sealight pitched to me for other a-artists.
Yeah, it's a l-lot of work, and I'm busy a lot of the t-time, but it's worth it to be able to have more control over my p-performances. As long as I stay in guidelines. Daekiiii doubles as a producer, so we b-both work on more than just our o-own projects. I think we'd get b-bored otherwise."
<p>[Shaking his head, he looks right at the camera, clearly reacting to something someone typed.]
"I'm not here to t-talk about my love life, which doesn't even exist for me. I'm t-too busy for that. Maybe one day I'll find someone, b-but not right now.
Yes, Kii and I performed at Pride w-with a song we specially composed. I've always b-been kind of an outsider, so that's w-why I wanted to put my support f-forward.
If you guys are s-starting to wind down, I'll probably c-cut this short-
...No, I c-can't talk about any upcoming releases of mine o-or Kii's. We're b-both working on getting new m-material out, and you will all h-hear about it when we're certain it's r-ready.
I h-hope that cleared up some of the confusion about u-us, so I have to stop repeating m-myself about it. I'm kidding, b-but thanks to everyone for l-listening. I'll probably be doing another s-stream in a few weeks, so look out for t-that. And-"
<p>[There is the sound of movement off-camera, along with a door slamming. Emmin's hand comes up to cover the camera, though his muffled voice can still clearly be heard.]
<p>"I'm still f-filming, what are you- oh don't p-pull code on me now. FINE, CODE: getting shit d-done so we can sleep is a go."
<p>[The image clears, and Emmin's face hovers on the screen for a brief moment.]
"Gotta go now, w-work calls!"
The spelling of his name echoed Megamind's in a roundabout way, though I really just picked it because it flowed together well. His stage name, Em-min, is a less obvious nod - mostly because the Em is supposed to be an M, which is short for Mega. The company wouldn't let him use that for obvious reasons(it is rather egotistical), but his entire stage name(in his own head) is Mega-min, which is obviously...Megamind, minus one letter, lmao.
Solo artist fit the whole theatrical supervillain thing a lot better than being a member of a group did. Also, his brains are put to good use writing songs for Sealight(so they don't have to hire and pay another person in his place), which is not exactly the same thing as Megamind's villainous schemes or what tech he designs to create them. As they're a critical point of the industry, it was a close enough fit for me.
All pretty much canon, other than the fact that Min can't exactly build death rays and things like that here. He is pretty good with technology and robotics, though.
So this is echoed in a couple different ways. Min was considered for VCB but passed over for the spot and pushed as a solo artist(something he's still bitter about), which is a nod to Megamind being the odd kid out in his 'shool' days and always picked last.
Min was used as a human punching bag by one of his older brothers and basically seen as an 'outsider' in his own 'family', both a reference to the young Metroman's bullying of him, as well as Megamind's life of being raised in a prison environment - most of his 'siblings' were basically terrors being passed off as angels, and he always got blamed for things other people did wrong.
A lot like Megamind, Min has some...less than desirable traits. He's a bit of a kleptomaniac, and stole a big sum of money from his own father to get him and his twin brother away from their family and to Seoul. He's got a bad habit of running his mouth at the wrong time(like Megamind's villainous monologues). There are some people he'd just love to let loose on and yell FITE ME despite the odds being stacked against him. But under all the bravado and sarcasm, he's not that bad, a lot like the spirit he's based on.
Megamind being sent away from his parents at eight days old is echoed in Min's father taking him away from his mother, and being raised as a twin to the man's other son(despite their being a nine day gap in their ages) is a nod to Megamind's relationship with Minion. His canon quirk of being unable to pronounce certain words properly is reflected in Min's stammering problem.
The app layout(with inner commentary in the interview section) is a reference to Megamind's narration through part of his movie.

<h1>Intro</h1> Min-jun Mun, otherwise known as his stage name Emmin(or Min), is a solo artist for Sealight who also doubles as a songwriter with quite a few recent credits under his name. Having been a solo artist for two years, he's pretty well versed in the fame game, and is notable for being pushed as something of a 'double act' with his nine-days-older half-brother(though they call each other twins, it's complicated, shh). His other older half-brother is Chen-u Kee, and these three are something of a package deal around Sealight.
<h1>Friends</h1> LOL, good luck. Min's pretty selective of the kinds of people he can put up with - which is probably something that has to be discovered through threads. He's used to people judging him, so he doesn't really...try to open up to people much. Though people that genuinely want to make an effort will probably get results. Just don't be surprised if he's a bit awkward about social situations. He's still learning.
<h1>Lovers</h1> Nah. He's got his eyes on a cute redhead.
<h1>Enemies</h1> Min has two protective older brothers - not to mention the fact that he's a salty little shit in his own right and will mouth off at anyone. Even if he doesn't necessarily have the fight to back it up, he doesn't care. Don't fuck with his brothers. Don't fuck with people he likes. Don't be a bully. Beyond that, it's pretty simple to not end up here. Though, he's pretty chill about people not liking him, being that he grew up in a rough household and is pretty used to it. COME AT HIM BRO.
<h1>Others</h1> ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ He's a songwriter for Sealight, so he probs interacts with people in that company through that capacity. Otherwise...yeah wingin' things is my game, y'all know that by now.
